XVI. PUBLIC FINANCE

The Budget Estimates of the Union of Myanmar are published annually by the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance and Revenue. Tables from 16.01 through 16.06 on government revenue and expenditures are compiled from the summary of the Budget Estimates of the Union of Myanmar.

The tables are presented as follows: (i) the State Budget classified into State Administrative Organizations, State Economic Enterprises and Development Committees (ii) Current Receipts of State Administrative Organizations (iii) Expenditure of the Union Government and State Administrative Organizations by sector and (iv) Current Cash Budget and Capital Expenditure of the State Economic Enterprises.

From 1989-90 onwards, the State Economic Enterprises are to deposit their receipts to the State Fund Account (SFA) and their expenditures are to be incurred from the Fund. Regarding Yangon City Development Committee and other City and Town Development Committees, their budgets are drawn on the basis of self-financing, since 1992-93.
